In another story light on detail today SIC Notícias reports that the bodies of two women have been found in a house in Trofa (a municipality in the Porto region).
The bodies are both described as being in “an advanced stage of decomposition”, which – bearing in mind the heat – does not give much of a clue as to how long they may have been lying undiscovered.
What is curious is the fact that the bodies were found because PJ police contacted firefighters, requesting that they forced entry.
This suggests the police must have had some kind of tip-off, or been investigating a situation in which they suspected bodies might be present.
Whatever the back-story, it will emerge as investigations continue.
According to SIC, the bodies were found around 10.30 this morning.
Jornal de Notícias has also covered this story, suggesting the bodies are those of a elderly woman, in her 80s, and her daughter, in her 60s.
According to JN, neither of the women have been seen by neighbours since October.
