
MANILA, Philippines — Senators gathered for a caucus Friday morning, just days before the Senate convenes as an impeachment court for the trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, July 6.
Among those who attended the meeting were Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian, Senate President Pro Tempore Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, and Sens. Panfilo Lacson, Risa Hontiveros, JV Ejercito, Erwin Tulfo, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Loren Legarda, and Robin Padilla.

Of those present, only Legarda and Padilla are members of the Senate minority bloc.
The caucus comes as the Senate finalizes preparations for the start of Duterte’s impeachment trial, where senators will sit as judges to hear the charges against the vice president. /dp
