Taraba State government has approved release of N7 billion for the payment of gratuities, retirement and death benefits.
The State Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Zainab Usman Jalingo, disclosed this in Jalingo, on Friday.
She said the funds, approved by governor Agbu Kefas, will enable for sustaining monthly funding to clear outstanding gratuities and retirement benefits for the retired civil servants in the state.
She commended the governor for his commitment toward improving the welfare of retired civil servants.

The Commissioner further stated that the state government has made the monthly payment of pensions and gratuities to retired civil servants one of its top priorities.
“The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring that pensioners receive their entitlements promptly, as the initiative has broadened Governor Kefas’ agenda to improve workers’ welfare and restore confidence in the state’s public service,” she said.
