
MANILA, Philippines — Rains and strong winds are expected to prevail over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon on Saturday afternoon, July 4, the state weather bureau said.
Based on a weather advisory issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) at 11:31 a.m., moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong gusts of wind are forecast over the following areas within the next 2 hours:
Metro Manila
Quezon
Bulacan
Laguna
Cavite
Similar conditions are being experienced over Rizal, which may persist within the next 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

Pagasa advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides.

Earlier, Pagasa reported in its 5 a.m. weather advisory that fair weather is forecast over most parts of the country, with possible rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
Meanwhile, easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, may persist to affect Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, Quezon, and Dinagat Islands, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional rains or thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau. /das
