
MANILA, Philippines — While Super Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi) still has no impact on the country, the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao from Wednesday afternoon to early Thursday morning, the state weather bureau said.
In the 5 p.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), weather specialist Benison Estareja said that Inday was last seen 1,170 kilometers east of Northern Luzon.

“The entirety of Super Typhoon Inday still has no direct effect. However, we’re seeing that the southwest monsoon is gradually strengthening the rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao,” Estareja noted.

There is a high chance of rains over Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro region, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City), and nearby areas in Northern Mindanao from Wednesday evening to early Thursday morning.
The rest of Visayas, Mindanao, and Luzon may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Wednesday afternoon to early Thursday morning.
There are also chances of overcast skies with isolated thunderstorms that may last for one to two hours.

Meanwhile, the enhanced southwest monsoon and the periphery of Inday will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas:
Wednesday: Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Calabarzon, most of Mimaropa, Bicol Region, most of Visayas, and most of Mindanao
Thursday: Most of the country
Friday: Most of the country
Inday maintained its strength as it was packing a maximum wind speed of 195 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 240 kph. /apl
