Karol G is giving away a pair of tickets to see her on tour with a cocktail-making challenge.
From July 9 to Aug. 20, U.S.-based fans of the Colombian pop star can recreate the Chellita Sunrise, the “official cocktail” of her tour, and post a video to Instagram or TikTok in which they dedicate a toast to someone special.
Inspired by the macaw — a symbol of Latin American culture that is featured in her tour logo — the red and yellow-colored cocktail mixes tropical flavors with 200 Copas by Casa Dragones, a Cristalino tequila named after Karol G’s 2021 hit “200 Copas.” The tequila is produced from agave grown in Jalisco and then aged for more than a year in American oak barrels.
Entrants of the contest must be 21 or older and reside in the United States. And don’t drink too much of the Chellita because “submissions must not depict excessive consumption, intoxication, unsafe or illegal behavior,” according to the rules.
The cocktail will be sold on the “Viajando Por El Mundo TropiTour.” Concert opportunities for fans in Mexico, Colombia and other international markets will be announced at a later date.
Karol G headlined Coachella earlier this year, bringing Latin and female empowerment to America’s biggest festival stage. Variety‘s Jem Aswad described the performance as a “vivid, loving tribute to all different flavors and musical genres of Latin culture.”
In a speech toward the end of the set, Karol G said, “This is for my Latinos that have been struggling in this country lately — we stand [with] them, and at the same time I am very proud because this brings out the best in us: unity, resilience, and a strong spirit. We do this because we want everyone to feel welcome to our culture, so I want everyone to feel proud of where you come from: Don’t feel fear, feel pride!”
