Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo stated that the construction of Sekolah Rakyat reflects the government's commitment to strengthening the quality of human resources by providing equitable educational infrastructure.
"The construction of Sekolah Rakyat is a real form of the government's commitment to building superior human resources and supporting equitable access to education," the minister explained in a statement here on Wednesday.
Currently, a Sekolah Rakyat school built by state-owned construction firm PT Nindya Karya is ready for use, coinciding with the start of the school orientation period (MPLS).
The presence of the educational facility is a form of collaboration between the government and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in providing proper learning spaces for the nation's next generation.
The completion of Sekolah Rakyat Phase II, carried out by the state contractor, spans 20 regions across four provinces, namely South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, East Java, and Maluku.
The distribution of Sekolah Rakyat construction reflects the government's commitment to delivering equitable educational infrastructure, including reaching underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.
Meanwhile, President Director of Nindya Karya, Firmansyah, said that the start of MPLS activities serves as an important momentum showcasing the results of development that bring real benefits to the community.
"We are grateful that the construction of Sekolah Rakyat, mandated by the government, has now entered the utilization phase. The success of this project is measured not only by the construction completion but also by the continuous benefits felt by the nation's next generation," he said.
Sekolah Rakyat is designed to ensure that children who have long been marginalized in development can stand on equal footing with others in national life.
The program has become a government priority targeting families in the lowest economic groups, namely deciles one to four in the National Integrated Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN).
