Iranian attacks on at least two military bases in Jordan this week reportedly injured several U.S. service members when their facility was struck, CBS News reported Friday.
The extent of the injuries is unclear as is when they occurred, though both the U.S, and Jordan have reported no fatalities.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.
The U.S. military’s death toll during the war against Iran has officially climbed to 14 following the death of a Navy pilot in a crash earlier this month over the Arabian Sea.
Additionally, more than 400 service members have been wounded since the beginning of the conflict.
The Iranian military this week stepped up drone and missile attacks on U.S.-allied nations in the Persian Gulf after Washington for several straight days launched waves of strikes on Iranian targets.
A tenuous ceasefire between the two nations agreed to last month is all but on the rocks after peace negotiations faltered and the U.S. accused Iran of attacking merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S., which has troops scattered across locations in the Middle East, launched another wave of strikes against Iran on Friday, marking the seventh consecutive day of hitting the country in what U.S. officials described as efforts to degrade Tehran’s military capabilities.
Iran, in turn, has fired back against Gulf allies including Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait, with Mohsen Rezaei, a military adviser to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, warning Wahington of a “full-scale offensive” in the coming days if the Trump administration continues its missile barrage.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed it shot at a U.S. base in Syria, though American service members withdrew from the base earlier this year.
And a wave of Iranian missiles and drones also injured “a number of” Kuwaiti military personnel on Friday, the country’s army said.
President Trump has brushed off any criticisms that the war isn’t going smoothly, saying Thursday night that the U.S. is “winning” big in Iran and that the American public will see the “fruits of that labor very, very shortly.”
